Naxal surrenders in Maharashtra

A Naxal leader with a reward of Rs 2.5 lakh on his head surrendered before the Gadchiroli police of Maharashtra today.

Gomaji alias Arsu Chaitu Jetti surrendered before the Superintendent of Police, Gadchiroli, said an official release here.

Jetti joined the Naxals in 2009, and was part of 'company number 10' of the ultras, it said.

He was involved in several incidents of violence including encounters with security forces, according to the police.

A total of 17 Naxals have surrendered before the Gadchiroli police since the start of this year.
