NDFB-Songbijit militant killed in encounter

A militant of NDFB-Songbijit faction has been killed in an encounter with a joint team of police and Army in Assam, a senior police officer said today.

Ankhuma, the Karigaon 'section commander' of the militant outfit, was killed at Auzar in Chirang district yesterday, IGP L R Bishnoi said.

Another cadre identified as Jackson Basumatary was arrested, the IGP said.

Two pistols, a hand grenade, ten rounds of live ammunition and two mobile hand sets were recovered from him, Bishnoi said.
