Nearly a million take holy dip in Sangam on Magh Purnima

Braving overcast sky, chilly winds and drizzle, about a million devotees took a holy dip at the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and mythical river Saraswati today on the auspicious occasion of 'Magh Purnima'.
According to official sources, close to a million devotees had a holy bath on the occasion, which marks the end of the month-long annual religious congregation of Magh Mela.
"Kalpavasis" - pilgrims who stay in tents along the banks of the Ganges observing month-long austerities - also took a dip.
No untoward incident was reported from anywhere, official sources said.
