'How I Met Your Mother' star Neil Patrick Harris is set to return as a host on Emmy Awards this year.

The 39-year-old will be back at the 65th annual Primetime Emmy Awards after anchoring the show in 2009, reported Aceshowbiz. Harris is also hosting the 67th Tony Awards this year.

"I couldn't be more honoured and excited to be hosting this year's Emmy Awards. And what perfect timing - I'll just do the exact same script I'm about to use for the Tonys," Harris said.

"Neil is the quintessential host-engaging, entertaining and a true showman-with a passion for celebrating the medium we all love," said Nina Tassler, CBS Entertainment president.

"Four years ago, Neil was an amazing Emmy host and we are excited to have him back," added Bruce Rosenblum TV Academy chairman and CEO.

Harris got rave reviews for his hosting stint at the Emmys in 2009. The actor who plays Barney Stinson in 'How I Met Your Mother' has won three Emmy Awards himself.

This year's Emmy awards will be held on September 22.
