Buoyed by a firming trend in base metals at the domestic spot market on rising demand, nickel futures rose 0.63 per cent to Rs 691.30 per kg today as speculators raised their bets.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in December rose Rs 4.30, or 0.63 per cent, to Rs 691.30 per kg in a business turnover of 672 lots.
The metal for delivery in January was up Rs 4, or 0.58 per cent, to Rs 696.80 per kg in 238 lots.
Market analysts said, a firming trend at the domestic spot markets where select base metals strengthened on the back of pick-up in industrial demand, mainly led to the rise in nickel futures here.
