Rapper-songwriter Kanye West hates award shows.
The 38-year-old "All of the Lights" hitmaker takes "no pleasure" in events which honour the musicians as he think they turn the music industry into a game, reported Contactmusic.
"Absolutely no pleasure in that side of it at all! At a certain point it's diminishing returns," he said.
West also admitted that he was not happy when Beck won the Best Album award at the Grammys earlier this year, as he felt Beyonce was the one who deserved the accolade.
The rapper continued to criticise annual events such as the Grammys which undervalue the career of hard-working musicians by turning it into a "game".
"It's not a game! Our careers and professions are not to be taken lightly. This is very serious, what we do, and we will be respected for it. I got the right to be upset about it," he said.
