Stray rains accompanied by Nor'wester lashed parts of the city and Burdwan district this evening.
Kolkata Police sources said that a big tree was uprooted blocking road in Loudon Street in the southern part of the city disrupting vehicular traffic.
Kolkata Municipal Corporation employees were working to remove the uprooted tree.
The Nor'wester disrupted normal life in Burdwan as uprooted trees blocked roads and electric lines were snapped in some areas of the district, West Bengal police control room said.
