West Bengal government would set up a separate finance directorate for northern part of West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said today.
She told reporters that people do not have to come to Kolkata from different parts of northern Bengal for problems related to pension and salary after the directorate becomes operational.
Banerjee also said they would improve connectivity in northern Bengal.
Upon her initiative, a new secretariat has already been established in north Bengal.
