A man has filed a complaint with the cyber cell of the Delhi Police, accusing a US-based NRI doctor of posting obscene material about his daughter on various websites using fictitious accounts, police said today.
The complaint was filed with the Cyber Cell, Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police on Thursday, that Varun Sharma was defaming the girl by posting filthy and false comments on social networking sites after she registered a complaint against him.
"As per the complaint, Sharma at times uses the names of the victim's relatives to post derogatory things to embarrass the family. He also uses different accounts to do so while sitting in the US," a police official said.

In his complaint, the victim's father said, "Earlier, in June this year, I had lodged complaint with Delhi Police in West district, but no action was taken. Thereafter, I was informed that such kind of cyber crime comes under the domain of Economic Offences Wing (EOW)."
He said he had approached the website concerned to clear the objectionable material and they had started the procedure to do so.
Police said a case has been registered under sections of the Information Technology Act and further investigations are underway.
