Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today expressed concern over the torrential rains and floods in this state and assured his Tamil Nadu counterpart J Jayalalithaa of his government's efforts in rescue and relief operations.
Patnaik spoke to Jayalalithaa over phone today and 'conveyed' his concern at the 'torrential and recurring rain' that have battered the state, an official release here said, adding he assured of all support in the rescue and relief operations.
He "pointed out that with the vast experience the state of Odisha has in disaster rescue operation, the government of Odisha is willing to render all support," to Tamil Nadu, it said.
Jayalalithaa thanked Patnaik for his concern and promise for all support, the release added.
