Odisha likely to start non-scheduled air service from Sept:CS

The ministry has granted NOC for operation of Non Scheduled Air Transport Services both intra state and interstate, Chief Secretary B K Patnaik said.
"The vision of the state government is to establish air connectivity to different places," he said.
In a recent meeting with Air Odisha MD P K Pani, the state government said that it wanted air connectivity to different industrial hubs.
The state government suggested Air Odisha to connect Bhubnaeswar-Rourkela-Calcutta, Bhubaneswar-Jharsuguda- Kolkata and Bhuabaneswar-Vizag-Raipur.
They have also been asked to connect Koraput, Jharsuguda and Angul form Bhubaneswar, an official said adding that it has been proposed to start the operation initially with 10 seater aircraft which in later phases could be increased to 19 seater as per demands.
The Air connectivity to Siridi and Tirupati has also been planned to start by Winter of current year. "The air service will be operated as per directives of Director General of Civil Aviation," Patnaik said.
