: Soon after Election Commission announced dates of polls to five states, officials in southern districts of Tamil Nadu began implementing the model code, including here,by ordering cleaning of all government premises and walls of posters and banners of political parties.
District collector Karunakaran said all posters on the walls would be removed from today and that public walls should not be used for any poll related advertisements by parties.
They should seek the permission of building owners if they wanted to advertise in private walls.
