Oil cos gain up to 4% on lower crude prices

Shares of oil marketing companies - HPCL, BPCL and IOC - ruled higher by as much as 4 per cent today as crude prices fell in international markets.

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation rose 3.62 per cent while Bharat Petroleum Corporation jumped 3.40 per cent.

Similarly, Indian Oil Corporation gained 2.29 per cent on BSE.

Stocks of oil marketing companies rallied for the second straight day.

India imports nearly 80 per cent of its oil requirements.

Brent crude was trading at 62.07 per barrel.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex ended with a gain of 115.97 points at 28,208.76.
