One dead, four hurt in Sao Paulo church shooting

A woman was killed and four people were wounded when a man opened fire at a church service in Sao Paulo, Brazilian media reported today.

Police said the deceased woman was the shooter's former girlfriend. Among the injured was the man who was her new love interest, who has been hospitalised in serious condition with a bullet wound to the head.

Authorities said a search was underway for the suspect, who escaped during the confusion following the shooting.
