One kg gold seized

A kilogram of gold, approximately valued at Rs 30 lakh, was today seized from a passenger at nearby Karippur International Airport, officials said.

The passenger, who arrived from Dubai, has been identified as Rafeeq hailing from Thalassery in Kannur district, sources said.

Air Customs Intelligence officials seized the gold which was hidden in a voltage converter box, they said.
