One killed in vehicle pile-up due to fog

A man was killed and about a dozen others were injured in a massive pile-up of over 24 vehicles due to fog on Yamuna Expressway near Mathura this morning, police said.

The vehicles were moving towards Noida when the accident took place, they said, adding that the deceased was identified as Pratish Kumar.

The injured were taken to a hospital here, and majority of them have been discharged by the evening or taken by their relatives to other hospitals near their place of residence.

Meanwhile, on Noida-Greater Noida Expressway five vehicles collided in series due to fog but no one sustained critical injuries, police said.
