One person dies in Burdwan due to heat wave

Heat wave conditions have accounted for one death in Burdwan district with a factory worker succumbing to the heat here today, hospital sources said.

Sheikh Rustam (45) a worker at a ferro-steel unit here, was working in an open space inside the Factory, when he complained of exhaustion at around 8.30 am and was rushed to Burdwan Medical College Hospital, hospital sources said.

The sources said Rustam died in hospital and attributed his death to the heat.

Unofficial reports said that with Rustam's death, heat wave deaths have accounted for three deaths in the district in the past three days.
 

Burdwan district along with other districts of the state has been in the grip of heat wave conditions for the past few days.
