One person shot dead

miscreants on motorcycles at Bauria in Howrah district today, police said.

They said Ishwar Sahu (28), a sharebroker by profession, was shot at from close quarters while he was standing at Bauria Jetty ghat by three persons on three motorcycles.

Sahu, a resident of Radha Nagar in Bauria died on the spot, police said adding that the body had been sent for postmortem.

A police force led by Sub-divisional police officer, Uluberia, has left for the spot.
