Shahgarh police station, set up near the Indo-Pak border 23 years ago to check smuggling from across the border and other anti-national activities has registered only 55 cases since its inception with no case of rape.
A population of 900 people resides in the area that falls under the police station, which lack basic amenities like electricity and has an old jeep for patrolling.
There is a provision for 15 officials, but only six policemen, headed by an assistant sub-inspector are posted to the police station.
"I have felt the need and requirements of the police station during my visits. Electricity supply is expected to be provided soon and work to construct boundary wall is also likely to start soon," SP Jaisalmer Rajiv Pachar said.
