Police and security forces today launched a massive combing operation in forest belts in Kathua region of Jammu and Kashmir after reported sightings of armed militants' movements in the area.
There was information by some locals about the movements of some armed militants donning Army uniform in Ghatti forest belt in border district of Kathua, a senior Police officer told PTI.
He said the search operation was launched in the forest belt to verify the information.

He, however, ruled out the news reports about the killing of two militants and said that search and combing operation is going on.
During the search operation, Jammu-Pathankote National Highway remained close for vehicular traffic as a precautionary measure for nearly one hour and later traffic allowed.
The combing operation comes two days after three members of suicide squad of terrorists (fidayeens) were killed by army troops at Dayalchak and Janglote before they killed three persons, including two civilians, and injured four people on Friday.
