Though there are above 100 IT companies operating in the state, Odia youths hardly get adequate employment in these software/hardware companies, MLAs cutting across party lines said in the assembly today.
Opposition Congress member Naba Kishore Das raised the issue during question hour and demanded information from the government on number of IT companies and the number of Odias working there.
Responding to it, Tourism minister Ashok Panda, speaking on behalf of the IT minister, said there are 108 software companies in the State.

"As many as 13,384 people are doing jobs in these companies, out of which 9849 are Odias," Panda informed.
Stating that the Odisha government has plans to set an IT hub in the State by 2020, Panda said the government has also set a target of establishing six software technology parks.
Four such parks are already functioning in the state including one each in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela.
