Malayalam blockbuster "Oru Vadakkan Selfie" will soon be remade into five Indian languages, including Hindi.

"The film, starring Nivin Pauly, Vineeth Srinivasan, Aju Varghese and Manjima Mohan, is being made into Tamil, Marathi, Bengali, and Telugu, besides Hindi," the makers of the film announced on their Facebook page.

"Drishyam", "How Old Are You" and "Bangalore Days" are among popular Malayalam films which have recently been remade into other languages.

"Some of the rights have already been sold while talks are going on about the rest," the posting said.

"Oru Vadakan Selfie", helmed by debutant G Prajith, was scripted by Vineeth Srinivasan.

Nivin Pauly essays the role of Umesh, an engineering college dropout in the film while Manjima Mohan plays the role of his neighbour Daisy. The plot is about problems that break out after a selfie.

The film is also heading towards a 100 day-run.
