Over 31,000 saplings were planted here today as part of a special drive initiated by Ghaziabad Development Authority to curb air pollution and increase green cover in the city.
GDA secretary Ravindra Godbole said that more than 31,000 saplings were planted in residential colonies of the city and Trans Hindan area which is a record in Ghaziabad.
To secure these plants, RWAs and NGOs have taken the responsibility, he said.
Most of the plants are of medicinal value and will help to fight the rising levels of air pollution, he added.
