: A total of 4.33 kg of gold worth Rs 1.45 crore has been seized in two different cases in as many days from passengers who'd arrived here from various countries, Customs authorities said Saturday.
In the first case Friday, 3.15 kg of gold worth Rs 1.04 crore was confiscated from 11 passengers hailing from Erode, Ramanathapuram and Chennai, the Customs officials said in a press release said.
In the second case Thursday, 1.18 kg of gold worth Rs 39.15 lakh was seized from four passengers who had come from Colombo, the release said.
They belong to Pudukottai and Ramanathapuram, it said.
In both the cases, the passengers had concealed the yellow metal in their rectums, the release added.
