Overcast skies, sultry conditions in Delhi

Overcast skies prevailed in the national capital with very light rains being witnessed in some parts, which increased the humidity level causing discomfort to Delhiites.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 36.7 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average, while the minimum temperature settled at 29.6 degrees Celsius, two notches above the normal, said a Meteorological Department official.

Traces of rainfall was recorded at the Safdarjung observatory, recording of which is considered the official figure for the city, while areas under Lodhi Road, Ridge, Ayanagar and Ridge remained dry.

The humidity oscillated between 85 and 62 per cent, the official said.

The Met office has forecast overcast skies along with the possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall in some places.

 

"Moderate to heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places tomorrow. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 33 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively," the weatherman said.

Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 39.1 degrees Celsius, while the minimum stood at 29.2 degrees Celsius.
