Pak confirms first dengue death of the year

A 24-year-old youth here has become Pakistan's first dengue victim this year after he succumbed to the deadly virus, health department officials said today.
The youth was admitted to the hospital on October 7 where he succumbed to the tropical disease the following day.
However, the news of his death was announced only today, Dawn Online reported.

As many as 26 people have been tested positive for the virus in Punjab province during the last two days.
A majority of the cases were reported from Rawalpindi and Chakwal.
The total number of dengue cases in Punjab has reached 332 so far, an official of the health department said.
