A Pakistani court today summoned Test cricketer Umar Akmal on March 11 in a case of traffic rules violation and a face-off with a traffic warden.

Akmal's lawyer told additional and sessions judge, Imtiaz Noor today that his client could not appear before the court as he was on a tour to Bangladesh with the Pakistan's one-day squad for the ongoing Asia Cup.

The judge adjourned the hearing till March 11 with a direction that Akmal must appear in the court on the next hearing.

Earlier in the day, Pakistani TV channels ran a news, saying that the court had issued arrest warrants of Akmal.

"The channels broadcast the wrong news," Akmal's lawyer said.

The court had summoned Akmal over a scuffle with traffic warden, Zeeshan, who filed a case against him.

On Feb 1, Akmal was arrested after he had a row with the warden for traffic signal violation in Gulberg area here.

He was detained for 16 hours before he was released on bail.

Akmal alleged that the warden not only misbehaved with him but also manhandled him and threatened him with dire consequences.
