Apple has filed papers in a federal appeals court in New York against a verdict in its e-books price-fixing case.

Apple in its appeal said a US federal judge was 'wrong' in ruling that the tech giant stifled competition.

According to news24, the tech giant said that the judge's findings that Apple violated antitrust laws by manipulating electronic book prices 'is a radical departure' from modern antitrust laws.

Apple filed its formal written arguments before the second US circuit court of appeals.

The company asked the appeals court to overturn the judgment in Apple's favour, or grant a new trial in front of a different judge, the report added.
