Panun Kashmir hits out at J&K govt

Press Trust of India Jammu
An organisation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) today hit out at the state government, alleging that it has failed to identify the cause and persons responsible for their exodus from Kashmir.

Panun Kashmir reached out to the community in Jagti camp, the biggest township for KPs in the outskirts of Jammu city.

"As many as 27 years have passed and the government is yet to establish the cause and identity of the persons and parties responsible for our displacement," Panun Kashmir Convenor Agnishekar said.

The government continues to be a "mute spectator" to the destruction and encroachment of the properties and temples that have taken on a mass scale, he said.

The organisation also alleged that the government has continued to float faulty return and rehabilitation formulae.
