Patient, 2 others killed in ambulance-bus collision

A 68-year-old man, being taken to a hospital in an ambulance with a fracture, and his daughter were among three persons killed when the vehicle and a bus collided here today, police said.

Velumani suffered a fracture in his leg after he slipped and fell down in his house near Tirupallani.

After first aid at a primary health centre, he was being taken in the ambulance to the government hospital here for treatment. He was accompanied by his daughter.

The ambulance and a bus collided near Tirupallani, killing Velumani, his daughter and the ambulance driver on the spot, police said.
 

In another mishap in southern Tamil Nadu, four priests of a church near Kodaikanal were killed when the car carrying them, rammed into a stationary lorry at Pallapatti near Dindigul, about 180 km from here, police said.
