A Special Investigation Team, probing the September 12 blast in Petlawad town in Jhabua district that killed 89 people, will conduct a narco analysis test on six family members of main absconding accused Rajendra Kasawa, who has been evading arrest since the incident.

The SIT was given a go-ahead to conduct the test by a local court today.

"The SIT had filed an application seeking permission for narco test in the court of Judicial Magistrate Anil Chouhan yesterday, which was granted today," SIT Chief Seema Alawa and Prosecution Officer R P Roy told PTI.

The blast took place in a shop, purportedly owned by Kasawa, where a huge quantity of gelatin sticks was stockpiled illegally.

The test will be conducted at Forensic Sciences Laboratory at Gandhi Nagar in Gujarat to know the whereabouts of Kasawa who was missing since the day of the blast, they said.

The test will be conducted on Kasawa's wife Pramila, daughter Sonia, son Shubham, brothers Narendra and Phoochand and a distant relative, Manoj Gaadia.

Madhya Pradesh government has already announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for any information on Kasawa.
