Pickpocket arrested from Delhi bus terminal

An alleged pickpocket was arrested with the help of a from east Delhi's inter-state bus terminal (ISBT), the police said today.

Mohammad Ali, a resident of Ghaziabad, was arrested yesterday and a stolen mobile phone was recovered from him, of Police (East) said.

The mobile phone of a Ghazipur resident, Mahesh Singh, was stolen while he was purchasing a ticket to Gurgaon at ISBT, the DCP said.

Mahesh chased the pickpocket but could not catch him, he added.

A traffic constable, Devendra, who was on duty at the terminal's exit gate got suspicious about Mohammad's movements and immediately apprehended him, the DCP said.

During interrogation, Mohammad confessed to pocket picking at the bus terminal, the added.

The accused was handed over to the local police and a case has been registered, he said.

With the arrest of Mohammad, the police claim to have solved six cases.
