A "sub-zonal commander" of People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI) has been arrested in Latehar district, police said today.

Mukesh Yadav was going to Ranchi from Latehar yesterday when the police nabbed him at Balumath, Deputy Superintendent of Police Roshan Gudia told reporters here.

The DSP said a country-made revolver and two bullets were recovered from Yadav, who had quit the CPI (Maoist) and joined the PLFI.

Yadav faced 13 naxal-related cases in Latehar and Palamau districts, including the abduction of a bank manager last year, who was later released, the police officer said.

The police have arrested several PLFI members in the recent weeks while some of the ultras belonging to the banned outfit had surrendered to the police.
