Ambassador of Poland in India Tomasz Lukaszuk today met Gujarat Chief Minister Anandi Patel at Gandhinagar.

During the meeting, Patel invited Polish companies to set up manufacturing facilities in Gujarat to realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Make in India' mission, an official release said.

Patel stressed the need to increase co-operation in the renewable energy sector such as solar and wind energy, it said.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister remembered historical ties between Poland and Gujarat during the World War-II when Jam Saheb, ruler of erstwhile Nawanagar-Jamnagar state gave asylum to Polish refugees, widows and children after the war, the release said.

Patel also invited the Polish delegation to take part in the forthcoming 'Vibrant Gujarat Summit' as well as the Global CEO Conclave in January 2015 here.

Lukaszuk accepted the invitation and assured Patel that top CEOs and a high-level Polish delegation would attend the summit, the release said.
