Police arrests two-wheeler lifters, 36 vehicles recovered

Four persons, who were allegedly involved in theft of two-wheelers at several places in the district, were arrested today and 36 two-wheelers worth Rs 15 lakh were recovered from them.
Superintendent of Police J Loganathan told reporters that a special police team was constitued to trace the two-wheeler lifters stealing parked vehicles for the past seven months in Dharmapuri and surrounding areas.
The team during a vehicle check on the Dharmapuri-Krishnagiri NH7 early this morning found two persons on a two-wheeler evading them, he said.

They were nabbed after a chase, police said, adding, investigations revealed the involvement of a four-member gang, including the duo, in the incidents, he said.
Based on the information given by the arrested, the other two gang members were arrested.
They were produced before a Judicial Magistrate court which remanded them to 15 days judicial custody.
