Police bust inter-state gang of burglars

With the arrest of three persons, Delhi Police today claimed to have busted an inter-state gang that had carried out 14 cases of house burglaries and motor thefts in the capital and neighbouring Haryana.

Gang leader Shakti, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, and two of his aides, all aged 25 years, were arrested from R K Puram by the special staff of south district police, police said.

A pistol, three live cartridges and stolen articles, including a motorcycle with fake number plate, worth several lakhs of Rupees were recovered from them, they added

On the basis of a secret information, a police team was constituted to nab the gang and a trap was laid to arrest them, DCP south, B S Jaiswal said.
 

Shakti was caught along with accomplice Amir alias Sona in a trap laid by police near R K Puram. At their instance, police arrested another gang member David and recovered stolen mobile phone, two gold rings, one gold earring, implements used in breaking in and a car used in commission of the crime.

During interrogation, they confessed to their involvement in various thefts in the national capital and Haryana.

With their arrest, police have claimed to have solved 14 cases of theft, trespass, burglary in Mehrauli and other parts of south Delhi and also in Faridabad.
