Probationer ASI killed

sub-inspector of police was killed when the revolver of a colleague went off while it was being loaded inside the police station in Howrah district, police said today.

Probationer assistant sub-inspector Amar Sarkar(31) was killed when Probir Ghosh, another sub-inspector of the police station, was loading his rifle inside Shyampur police station midnight last night.

Sarkar was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead, the police said.

His family has, however, alleged that the incident was pre-planned.

Ghosh has been suspended by the authorities, the police

added.
