Property dealer killed in road rage incident in Ghaziabad

In an apparent case of road rage, a Meerut-based property dealer was shot dead allegedly by a man in Vasundhara area here after their vehicles collided, police said today.

The incident occurred last night when Amandeep Singh Dhillon and his friend went for dinner at a hotel, where Sanjiv was also present with one of his friends, Prince.

When leaving, Amandeep's car collided with Sanjiv's vehicle, after which a quarrel broke out between the two sides, superintendent of police (city) Aakash Tomar said.

Amandeep, in a gush of rage, struck Sanjiv's head with a brick. Sanjiv's friend, Prince, opened fired on Amandeep, with the bullet hitting him on the chest, the SP said.
 

Amandeep (35) was immediately rushed to a hospital, where he declared dead, Tomar said.

Sanjiv, who was discharged from from the hospital after treatment for his injury, has been arrested by the police, he said.

Sanjiv is also a property dealer, police said.

An FIR has been registered and police have launched hunt to nab Prince.

Meanwhile, the superintendent of police said a "time schedule" would be fixed for the closing of hotels in the city.
