Prostitution racket busted, 15 people arrested in Chhattisgarh

Fifteen persons, including seven women, were arrested after two houses were raided here, with police officials today claiming that they had busted an inter-state prostitution racket.

Raigarh Superintendent of Police Siddharth Tiwari said that raids were conducted at two houses in Chakradhar Nagar area last night.

"A trap was laid and policemen were sent as decoys to the houses in Boirdadar and Atarmuda localities, posing as customers. After the deal was fixed, police teams raided the houses," he said.

He said that four men, identified as Narayan Vaishnav (48), Sushil Deshmukh (44), Rahul Agrawal (28) and Nitesh Kumar (32), and 4 women were arrested from the house raided in Boirdadar.

 

"Vaishnav was operating the racket while others who have been arrested are clients," the official said.

In the raid on the house in Atarmuda locality, he said that four men, identified as Kailash Sidar (28), Dinesh Verma (43), Rajkumar Kushwaha (30) and Rameshwar Yadav (27), and three women were held.

"Among the seven arrested women, one hails from Maharashtra, while two each are from West Bengal and Jharkhand," he said.

The officials said that the arrested persons have been booked under The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and further investigations were underway.
