Scores of Congress workers today staged a protest here against hike in petrol prices and demanded the Centre to withdraw the increase made to it.
The Congress workers gathered in front the Panki Temple of the city and raised slogans against NDA-led central government. They also held placards asking "kaha gaye ache din" (where have the good days gone), as promised by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi during elections.
Party leader Shailendra Dixit said "people had already been reeling under pressure of inflation. Due to the rise in fuel price, rates of every other commodity will shoot up. I request the PM to withdraw the hike made to the fuel".
