A delegation of the Punjab BJP today met Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and demanded stern action against the culprits who sacrilege Guru Granth Sahib in a village near Fardikot.
The delegation led by Punjab BJP chief Kamal Sharma apprised the Chief Minister about party's feeling about the issue of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib by demanding strict action against the culprits.
The delegation said Guru Granth Sahib is not only a matter of atmost religious importance for the Sikhs but is a symbol of faith and worship for all communities across the globe and BJP is pained over the sacrilege incident.

There is a great need to remain alert about such anti-national forces and stern action should be taken against the culprits so that in future nobody dares to play with the sentiments of any religion, Sharma said.
Raising the issue before the Chief Minister, Sharma said that special efforts should be taken to maintain law and order problem in state in order to ensure peace and communal harmony of the state.
BJP delegation also suggested constituting peace committees at district level.
Sharma said such committees should, time to time, analyze the law and order problem in the concerned districts and should be used as feedback channels for the government about any social issue.
Sharma said that the BJP has always wished for a peaceful atmosphere in Punjab and the party has a proud track record of challenging anti-nation forces and the violence.
The BJP has also appealed the political parties to refrain themselves from taking political advantage of the situation and should help the government in maintain law and order.
