Punjab Director General of Police Suresh Arora today condoled the death of former state police chief K P S Gill, who passed away in New Delhi today.
In his condolence message, Arora said Gill led the Police from the front at a time when Punjab was most affected by the depredations of state-sponsored terrorism from across the border and successfully finished off the menace of terrorism and militancy from the state.
Meanwhile, the Punjab IPS Officers' Association also condoled the demise of Gill and recalled that he was one of the most illustrious and respected leaders of Punjab Police.

In a condolence message, a spokesman of the Association said Gill led the state police from the front in a decisive fight against the anti-national and terrorist elements.
"His demise is a great loss that will leave a void for the times to come. Many of us had worked closely with him. He will be missed. However, he will continue to inspire police officers from not only Punjab but the rest of the country as well", he added.
