Punjab government today said that a state-level committee has been appointed to draft a drainage infrastructure masterplan for waterlogged areas in southern Punjab.
A irrigation department spokesman said that the committee would have as its chairman, BS Dhaliwal, Technical Adviser to the Chief Minister with the Chief Engineers of Drainage, Canals, PWD(B&R), Mandi Board, Panchayati Raj and the Irrigation Power Research Institute as its members along with the Director of the Central Design Office.
He further said that the committee would commence work with immediate effect and would submit its report within 30 days.
