Punjab, Haryana, Raj cops discuss anti-drug ops

Senior police officials of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan today decided to launch a joint offensive against drug peddlers.

The decision was taken by senior officials of four Punjab districts Muktsar, Fazilka, Mansa and Bathinda, three SSPs of Hisar, Sirsa and Fatehabad districts of Haryana and police officials of Ganganagar, Bikaner and Hanumangarh districts of Rajasthan at a meeting here, IGP (Bathinda zone), Nirmal Singh Dhillon said.

He said all officers vowed to coordinate with each other to check the flow of drugs by smugglers and drug peddlers who are active in these areas.

IG, Bikaner Division (Rajasthan), Janardhan Sharma said he had sought Punjab police's cooperation to check migration of criminals from Punjab into their state.
 

Dhillon said Haryana police assured to cooperate in checking illict liquor trade from its areas to Punjab and Rajasthan.

Police officials were also unanimous in launching hot lines at zonal police headquarters of the three states.
