Punjab honours educators on Teachers' Day

Punjab Education Minister Aruna Chaudhary today honoured 40 teachers with state awards on Teachers' Day.

The minister also distributed commendation certificates to five teachers, besides honouring nine national award winning teachers and heads of 39 schools winning Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar.

The state award winning teachers were given Rs 25,000 as prize money, a shawl and a medal.

These teachers would also get a one year extension in service. The other teachers and school heads were awarded certificates.

Chaudhary congratulated the entire teaching community on the occasion of Teachers' Day.

The minister also said an online portal concerning leave to be availed by the teachers will also be opened soon.
 

The minister while congratulating the award winning teachers encouraged those unsuccessful to work even harder for next year.
