Punjab to fill 214 vacant posts in drug de-addition centres

Punjab government today said it will fill 214 vacant posts in three state drug de-addiction centres.

The posts will be filled up in Amritsar, Jalandhar and Patiala within three months, said minister for medical Education and Research, Chunni Lal Bhagat.

Bhagat said, the process for recruitment has already started after the Cabinet gave its nod by sanctioning 214 posts for drug de-addiction centres.

Five dedicated drug de-addiction centres would be operational in the state at Patiala, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Bathinda and Faridkot, he said adding, the government has sanctioned Rs 25 crore for these centres.

The minister further said that the whole recruitment process would be supervised by a departmental recruitment committee.
