Pvt institute suspends professor for sexually harassing girl

An assistant professor of a private college here has been suspended for allegedly sexually harassing a girl student.

Police said the girl, hailing from Kumbakonam in Thanjavur district, had filed a complaint with the City Police Commissioner Shylendra Kumar Yadav, alleging that the assistant professor was sexually harassing her.

The Commissioner then directed personnel at the police station concerned to register a case and conduct a probe.

Meanwhile the college management suspended the professor, they said.
