Railways make elaborate arrangements for Mudiya Poono fair

North Central Railway has made extra arrangements for pilgrims coming to attend the Mudiya Poono fair at Goverdhan.

"While one special train was run last year, in case the number of pilgrims exceeds, we can run two special trains this time.

"51 coaches are ready in case of any eventuality," DRM Agra, Vijai Sehgal said today.

"For the first time 23 CCTV cameras have been installed at Mathura Junction station and 5 CCTV cameras at Goverdhan station.

"A control room has also been set up at the RPF police station which would work round-the-clock," the DRM stated.

P B Gautam, senior DSO in the DRM Office, has been appointed as Mela officer for the Mudiya Poono fair.
 

Two ambulances would be ready and at least one doctor would always remain on duty during the the course of the fair," Sehgal said.

Security has been beefed at Mathura Junction station with RPF and GRP personnel keeping a vigil in plain clothes, he said.

The fair, which started yesterday, has already witnessed over six lakh pilgrims who have performed parikrama of the Goverdhan hillock.
