Rain, floods claim 12 lives in Nashik district in four days

The heavy rainfall and floods in the district since August 1 have claimed 12 lives, a release from the collector's office said today.

There were four deaths in Dindori, two in Sinnar and one each in Nashik, Igatpuri, Chandvad, Surgana, Malegaon and Trimbakeshwar.

As many as 2,573 houses were damaged. Over 380 of these houses were damaged extensively.

Over 1100 houses were damaged in Niphad tehsil town, 933 in Nashik and 282 houses in Dindori.

Also, 110 livestock animals died.
