Rainfall today brought down mercury level in Patna and other parts of Bihar, but the humidity remained high in the state.

Patna registered 38.5 mm of rainfall, the MeT Department here said.

Gaya recorded 30.8 mm of rain, while Purnea and Bhagalpur recorded and 2.6 mm and 5.1 mm of rainfall respectively, it said.

The maximum temperature in Patna was 30.4 degrees Celsius and 30.7 degrees Celsius in Gaya.

Mercury in Bhagalpur settled at 34.6 degrees Celsius and 34.8 degrees Celsius in Purnea, the weatherman said.

Humidity was recorded at 96 per cent in the state capital.

The state weather office forecast generally cloudy sky with light rain or drizzle in the next 24 hours.

Downpours created water logging problems in many parts of Patna much to the discomfort of citizens and people had a tough time wading through knee-deep water outside the railway station.
